Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me

While outside in early March pruning our apple trees. I stuck one of the branches I cut from the tree into the ground to mark where I wanted the ground to be worked up this spring for flowers. Today I discovered this branch is now standing tall and has leaves on it and is taking root.
