Grandson's 1st Birthday

Today is my Austin's first birthday. Oh how I wish we could just get a away for the weekend to be with him today.
Here is a picture of four generations.

Austin in so many ways reminds me of Mark when he was a baby.
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!

sailing out on Lake Erie

Here is my favorite sailing and fishing boat. The Heartbreaker races every Tuesday night on Lake Erie through the summer. When the boat is not racing we are out fishing.

Our Family Tree

This is what I emailed out to the family. It's a form of Family torcher

Have you ever had someone say to you, “Boy, you look just like your sister, or your brother, or your mom or dad.”? Or they think you look like someone else in their family?
Here are some pictures from the Cousino family tree. I tried to get as many young pictures as I could find. Sorry about the gap and that I don’t have everyone. But can you correctly name all 32? I’ll let you know who was first to answer right.

Melissa needs your help

Hello Family and Friends!!

I hope this email finds you all doing well and enjoying the summer temperatures!!

I just received some exciting news... on a whim, I entered the Miss America Fourpoints Magazine Cover Model Contest (one day before the deadline). To my surprise... I was named a Top 6 Finalist!!

The winner of the contest will have their picture on the front of the August issue and receive flight/hotel arrangements for the Miss America's Outstanding Teen contest in Orlando, FL. (I could use a trip to Florida!!)

Online voting represents 50% of total scoring. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate your support!!

Here is the link if you would like to check it out! (Feel free to forward this on if you know of others who would cast a vote!) Thank you!!

Thought I would ask

It was the first of June and I was still wearing a coat outside in the garden.
I ask for warmer weather for the garden to help it grow.
We got 90+ degrees….way more then needed.

We’ve had very little rain here.
I ask for rain for the garden to help it grow.
In the last 24 hours we got over 5 inches of rain…..way more then needed.

We could use a few more plants and some fertilizer.
So I am asking for money for the garden to help it grow.
Hoping for…..way more then needed.

Looking back on the past

Going through old pictures today...to hot to be outside...

Do you think Bret looks like his daddy? I think Bret is going to take more after his mommy. Only time will tell.

Here we have Laura, with Austin in the middle and Uncle Mark on the end. I think Austin looks more like Mark than his mother.

Don't you think Laura and Georgia look alike? My husband thinks Georgia is looking more and more like her father than her mother.

Here I go again

The school wants to save money this summer by not operating two buses up to school this summer like they have done for years. All the severely handicapped children will ride on one bus with a driver and an aide. What does that mean to me and my son?? My son would be one of at least 7 children riding in a wheelchair on that bus. Think how long it takes to load and unload a wheelchair from a bus. With 7 wheelchairs that will makes a long time in getting home. What if it were ever an emergency? A wreak, a fire or tornado? My child has little hope of surviving.
There are no laws that limit the number of wheelchairs on a bus in Michigan. Most school limit the number to 4 but have hook ups for 5 for that just in case situation. I am not sure what to do. I am already tired of fighting with the school.
Years ago I went into a wild rage over my son's transportation to and from school. In the summer while he attended school I discover the temperature on the school bus would quickly and easily get over 100 degrees. While arguing with the school about this situation, there was an article in the newspaper about a man being arrested for having his dog in a hot car. Dog in hot car you are arrested but severely handicapped children in hot wheelchairs that are unable to speak, nothing wrong with that. I screamed and yelled and brought it to everyone's attention. Now every bus in the county that goes to the summer program is now air conditioned. Yes it was worth all the work, but now I tired. Maybe I should just keep my son home from school for the summer. HELP ! ! !

Side note: The bus driver with the most seniority gets first bids on this summer school bus run. My father turned 75 in January and the summer drive is older than my father.

My son

Thomas, whom I have said for years, has a problem with his platelets; has now been diagnosis with Delta granule storage pool deficiency. Because Tom’s Delta SPD is so severe, the doctor wants us to come in for counseling on the family plan. Being I started complaining when Tom was only 3 or 4 years old and it took until he was 22 to finally get a doctor to diagnosis it, this appointment can wait until August.

Dizzy

After Cedar Point this week, I think they both wanted the fun to continue.
