Wednesday I wanted to tell you about my fun shoveling the snow, but it seams all I do is complain. So I didn’t, but I have to tell you or I’ll explode.
My husband with his hip replacement he shouldn’t be outside shoveling snow so off to work he goes. Mark had school, colleges don’t have snow days. So there I was outside alone shoveling snow.

For the school bus that pulls in our driveway and has to turns around here too, we need a long wide path. A wheelchair is harder than hell to push in snow. So the driveway needs to be smooth a possible. Most snow removal services want $250 per snowfall to do our big driveway. Sorry we have lots of medical bills and just can’t afford it. They don’t do a good enough job for a wheelchair anyways, so out doors I go.

Bending and lifting snow I am getting tired and my hands and feet are getting wet. Swearing at the passing snowplows helps me to keep going. Mark finally arrives home to help. While shoveling snow at the end of the driveway, Mark slips and falls with his head landing close to the road. I thought his head was going to get run over. Luckily the van did stop but that was enough for me. I quit! Three hours of this shit and we still aren’t close to being done and Tom is in the house wet and needing a feeding.

Thursday when Tom’s bus was trying to leave our driveway it got stuck half in the road and half in the driveway. Traffic was backed up for miles. Just 4 hours later a small car got stuck in the same spot the bus did but heading in the opposite direction. Police cars, tow trucks, flashing lights, stopped traffic.
Today I’m keeping Tom home from school.

Loving it

My Son

My words today will fail me. There are times I don't want to claim that he ever came out of me.

Doesn't this scare you?

Insanity! Look at what happens when he put on a second graders coat. He couldn't get the coat off by himself.

It's the winter time blues

I'm sick getting Tom off his school bus in the afternoon. Then all the snow that melts off everything once you come back inside. Tom's wheelchair is great for trapping snow around the wheels and it's too cold to leave Tom outside while you try to clean it off out there. So he's stuck into a small area in the house until I get the snow and water cleaned up. I'm finding that is taking a good amount out of my day.
Just tried of cleaning up little puddles everywhere.
I miss the sunshine, warm weather and playing in the garden.

A new day tomorrow.

Listen to the news, his name is said zillions times. Every time they say his name, it is these four words, “President-Elect Barack Obama“. We do all know that he is the President-elect and we know his name is Barack Obama. Tomorrow his name shall be shorten to President Obama.
Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.

Help!!

someone very special to me is having a birthday next month. It will be her 3rd birthday and the first that us here on this side of the state will make it to. Problem? She want us all to come to her party dressed a Dora the Explorer. Over the phone I was told to wear shorts and a T-shirt. She also stated to have a backpack and a map. We also need to bring "Boots"??!!

It's so cold

brrrrrrrr This is dangerously cold weather. Not only do I dress in layers before going outside, over Christmas I added a protective layer of blubber to my body too.
If you live somewhere that allows you to wear shorts and and sandals whenever you please, at this moment: I hate you.
Every winter, I can't help asking a question that
environmentalists don't like to hear. Is there any way to speed up global warming?
I'm freezing.

Yes, the weather man was right and we did get some snow. Thanks for the snow but I've had enough for this winter. 70 days until spring begins.

It is Done

We had some kind of power line hanging across the driveway and laying in the front yard today. I'm not one to know what kind of a line it was. The phone line, cable, or an electric line? All of ours was still working so after calling cable, phone, and power companies it was a waiting game. Hours later it was the cable company that stopped and took claim to the line. So that how a woman finally got her Christmas tree down and to put all the decorations away.

Mark

Saturday was a crazy day with lots of things going on. Mark realized at the last minute that all this filming he promised to do for a friend was for today and not on Sunday. So Mark ran all around town like crazy getting everything ready so he could film. He had to stop at the Rite Aid store in Lambertville for some supplies too.
This morning I read in the newspaper:
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office needs help finding the suspect who robbed a Rite Aid store Saturday night. It happened in the 7300 block of Secor Road in Lambertville at around 8:40. The store clerk says the suspect walked in, flashed a black handgun, and demanded cash. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The victim described the robber as a white man in his early twenties, about 5'7".
We've been having so much fun teasing him about this.

Little Boy Blue

After turning up the heat in the bathroom and getting the room nice and warm. It was time for Thomas John to get a bath. He usually loves getting a bath and it’s a very enjoyable time for him. But not today. Soon after getting in the tub he started quivering and trembling. Even spray him with warm water or laying warm wet towels on him didn’t help. As the shivering continued the fingernails and lips started turning blue. So it was how fast can we wash him up and get him out of the tub.

After getting him dresses as fast as we could, we worked on warming his body up too. Doesn’t he look warm now?
