Won't you be my neighbor?

After asking neighbors if they wanted any vegetables from our garden, this is what I have leftover. With this heat and humidity I'll have just as much, if not more, to pick tomorrow. Won't you be my nice neighbor and take some too!

Picture below

Just happened to noticed that if you blow up the picture below of Mariah at Meijers, there is a fly on the 40% off tag looking at her. Admiring her perhaps?

My Sister

What do I say??? She brought over an application for me to fill out for the Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Yes, I would love an extreme makeover on my home being Tom sleeps in the living room. It's impossible to get his wheelchair in and out of the bedroom and giving Tom a bath is a major workout. My husband recently had back surgery and his hip replaced and shouldn't be lifting Tom. The extended family is a bit uncomfortable in helping. So a new bathroom and bedroom that's made for Tom who can't helped in any way shape or form would be nice.
It was nice that my sister found and printed out an application. I am forever saying I could use some help. But to fill out this application is a lot of work and there are lots and lots of pages. Then you also have to make a video, taping the inside and outside of your house and you must make sure that all members of the household are present for the taping and appear and speak on the camera. That would take a miracle, but I would love nothing more than to hear my son speak.

Mosquitoville

Mosquitoes where out everywhere and constantly flying around anyone outside this weekend. It made gardening miserable. After pulling out a row of old peas I assumed that my husband and son were clapping for me. But no! They were swatting mosquitoes. When I sprayed myself with insect repellant the little buggers left my arms and legs alone but when after my ears. It was very annoying and irritating, hard to work outside. I felt like an all-you-can-suck-buffet. There is nothing scarier than a mosquito biting you that’s so chubby it’s got an outie belly button.
The peas are out of the ground and a fall crop of cabbage is in.

Their Back :(

As a child Tom had seizures often. We change his seizure medications and for a short time the seizure would stop, but soon or later they would return and take on a new form. As a baby his seizures where like someone doing a jack=knife off a diving board; he's jerk up and fold in half. Then we went though a grand mal stage, just shaking all over and then sleep for hours. That was followed seizures where his hands would fly in the air and he would scream out. You get the picture we changed his medication about every 2 years, he had lots of seizures and different forms of them.
Fifteen years ago Felbatol was introduces and Tom has done so well on this drug, that when it was recalled off the market I begged to keep him on it. Yes!! Fifteen years had passed with far and few seizures....until lately.
Back in September I tried to explain this new eye movement thing that Tom was doing and that I thought were seizures to the doctor. The doctor said he didn't think they were but really needed to see one to be sure. I was fine with that at the time for I'd only see Tom do this twice. But since September they are showing up more frequently, lasting a little longer and with this one today you could feel him shake by just holding his arm or leg. My heart is broken.

This is how we got Austin to take a good long nap, put him in bed with Uncle Tom.

Here's Grandma's girl. We did so much together this weekend. Can't wait until we all get together again soon!!

He thinks he owns the place

He showed up in our backyard water garden last year. For a brief period of time it was refer to the Ninja Turtle. Being the Ninja turtles have wonderful names Raphael, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo; let's name our turtle after an artist too. The name I picked was out voted. So I'd like you to meet Bob Ross.
Do you know your turtles? Is this a wood turtle or a snapping turtle?

Stanley

I knew very little about the game of hockey until my brother, his wife and their son Joe moved in next door to us. They love everything there is about hockey. Last night the local bar had the Stanley cup there. My nephew took his son to see the Stanley Cup! He said there was about a million people there and had to wait in line for a long time. But both were very excited about it.

On the phone

My Granddaughter, Georgia, will call me on the telephone to talk. For the most part I do most of the talking. My years of talking to Tommy had paid off for I’m like a professional at one-sided conversations. But now as Georgia is getting older and her vocabulary is growing I am really enjoying our time on the phone together.
Yesterday during our Georgia/Grandma discussion I figured out that her Mama put her and Austin in a wagon and she went on a wagon ride out in the back. Being that Laura and Casey’s back yard is full of pigs, cows, wild deer and turkeys, Grandma asked “What did you see on your wagon ride Georgia?” “A baby jaguar” was her answer.

Everythings corn or corny

Yes, Mark's corn is "knee high by the 4th of July"

The corn is also a great place to hide.

Their corny way of playing the card game Skip-bo.
