Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was this woman (grandma) that used this picture as her desktop background on her computer. This woman’s husband and son would daily see this picture and comment on how much her precious granddaughter looks like her father, looks so grown up and needs to come and visit.

Fat and fit or thin and chocolates

Every spring as I begin to garden I realize how out of shape I am. It takes a few weeks before I’m not out of breath while doing the gardening routine. Every fall I notice how much weight I’ve lost over the summer. Only to have winter come, gain weight back.
In January we brought a treadmill. The first day on it, it took forever to walk just a half mile. Now I’m liking it. 3 times a day the treadmill and I are bonding with sweat. It’s continually challenge me to do more and move faster. I do feel better and glad we purchased it.
Since the treadmill and I have bonded I’ve put on over 5 pounds and I might just choke the next person that tells me that it’s all muscle or water, that muscle weighs more than fat. Yes, I’ve had my thyroid checked.
This is when pointers on how to work out better or more efficiently are given to me.

It wouldn’t be so difficult for me to take if it weren’t for the fact that years ago…back when there were periods in my life. I started a diet in January and by my birthday, March 4th, I had lost over 25 pounds with not much effort.

So it's either fat and fit or going back to a bit thinner and having lots of chocolate.
I'd love to eat a whole cheese cake on my birthday.

Seeds and Plants

Ordering plants and seeds is one of my favorite things to do. Always looking forward to those catalogs arriving. Burpee had a lot to offer, Henry Field’s is good too, but my favorite seed catalog to order from has to be Gurney’s. Most seed companies send all your seeds and packages at once. Some will send stuff in two packages. Seeds in one that arrive in March/April and other plants that arrive late April/early May. Gurney’s sends your items differently than most companies do. My seeds have all ready arrived. So I can start them whenever I choose. Gurney’s is also wonderful about emailing you ahead of time as to what should be arriving that week. They are not an order now, get in late in the season and plus they have lots of coupons too. Can’t wait to dig in the dirt.

I looked

Last few times I've looked at my blog, there has been nothing there.
Taxes are done. Called plumber for some leaks in the bathroom.
Can't wait for it to warm up. I uncover the pond just to take a look today.
Saw lots of fish swimming around and one frog that didn't make it.
Order seeds for the garden and hoping my trumpet vine has lots of blooms
this year.

Now that she is three I can't carry her any more. We have to walk together holding hands.

I don't need this

Just a bit nervous. This weekend is the G’s 3 birthday party. It’s the first party that we are able and planning to attend. G calls our home often telling us about her party and her plans for it. I am so excited for her and so happy to get to be a part of it….. I hope…. Thomas John only peed 3 times yesterday. The note from school also said he was full of complaints and was crabby. He has no fever, no runny nose, and is not acting sick. Last evening he was very lethargic and fell asleep about 6, he didn’t move a muscle until I woke him up at 6 this morning. He better not be getting sick.

I think I'm all ready to go and celebrate someone very special's third birthday.

Heart monitor

My dear sweet husband is to wear a heart monitor. He may have to wear it up to a month. Electrodes stuck to his chest and attached to a small recording monitor. Every time or any time he feels his heart racing, he is to hit the record button on the monitor. It will then record the previous 45 seconds and the next 45 seconds of the heart. Later you send this in over the phone. It sounds so simple. For whatever reason, he's not following the instructions. Why is it that when it comes to doctors and doing what you are told, his whole family gets lost in the translation.

For Valentine's Day

My nieces are crazy over the Jonas Brothers. It would be very difficult for them to actually meet them. So for Valentine's Day I did the best I could with what I had and hope the girls love it.

Here is Joe, Nick, Mariah, Isabella, Amelia, Gabrielle and Kevin. To bad we can't get together more often. Maybe we'll try it again this summer.
