Yesterday's Fun

Yesterday I had the experience of having my bladder scoped. A lighted telescope like instrument was placed into the bladder through the urethra. (Urethra, isn’t that a fun word to say?) I for some time have been having blood in my urine. (Yes, I know too much information) Right from the very beginning it was a bit creepy. While getting me ready for this as the nurse “scrubbed” the area and said “just pretend you’re in a spa.” What kind of a spa does she go to?
Than an X-ray was taken of my lower stomach and hung up for all to see. There was a lot of talk about all the gas in my intestines. Yes, I am lying on the table all covered up except my crotch is exposed for all to see and they are talking about me being full of gas. Doesn’t that sound like a fun time?
Most of the scoping was not painful until they shot the dye up the left kidney. Then I just about flew off the table. I could feel it traveling up my left side. Thank God they did the right side first and it didn’t hurt.
They send you home with orders to drink lots of water and fluids all day but they don’t tell you that for the next 20 times you pee it burns like crazy and you quickly start hating having to go to the bathroom. Yes I spend most of yesterday holding my crotch.
Of course they found nothing wrong. I come from a long line of family members with blood in the urine for no reason. I still yet to passed any gas.

Frost! Here we go again!

The Spring Frost Fairy may be visiting our garden again threatening many of our tender plants. Is my garden ever going to really start growing? The plants are in desperate need of some warm nights and a good warm rain. Sad to say that even the weeds aren't popping out of the ground yet and growing.

So my sister the teacher took me fishing over the weekend. I think she too is sick of school like most students are at this time of the year. Here is a picture of her relaxing while fishing. It was an enjoyable day out on the lake even if the fish weren't biting.

Thomas John was sick all last week with the flu. Look at the smile I got on Saturday when I ask him if he was feeling better. So cute!! Feeling better or not he is still going to the doctor's tomorrow.

Look at how big and grown-up Georgia looks in this picture. She is alway happy to go outside and help take care of the pigs. She always has a delightful time with them and I think they make wonderful pets. Both Georgia and Austin were sick too last week with croup. Georgia now has a touch of bronchitis. I do wish they lived closer.

How can I, a person with thin straight hair that never holds a curl, no matter what I do or put into my hair; have a son with hair like this? Can you believe this curls??
There are people who would pay good money to have these curls.

Not This Week

Here are some pictures I love from the 1st of May. I really didn't take any good pictures this week. Most every day I worked in the garden wearing a coat! Is it ever going to warm up? I said warm up not get ridiculously hot.

Rapunzel and his hair

This photo was taken in October while making scarecrows for Halloween. Look at Mark's hair. Notice how short it is. Mark usually needs a good hair cut once a month.

This photo was taken the other day. His hair has grow since this picture was taken. Do you remember the song from the Cowsills called "Hair"
I let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home for the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for the buzzin' bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my Hair.

It is time

It's time to plant cannas. I have lots of extra reds and some extra greens. First come, first served.

Mother's Day

With Mother’s Day being this Sunday; here is my Mother’s Day wish list for my husband and sons at home.

1. I WANT DINNER AT HOME! I detestation eating in crowded restaurants or having to wait in line to eat. Nothing is worst that pushing a wheelchair into a crowded restaurant and then when Tom doesn’t eat, totally tube fed, and people stare at you, for not feeding this poor handicapped child. Let’s just have a nice home cooked dinner. I know you guys can cook.

2. MAKE MY GIFT! Any one can run to a store and get a gift. I want my gift to be a gift that no other mother in the world received. My gift is to be a one of a kind work of art. Dig deep into your soul and find that talent God gave you and make something for your mama. Oh, I want a homemade card too. Yes, I want your time, effort and energy as part of my gift.

3. TO MY DAUGHTER, ENJOY YOUR DAY! Now that you are a mother too, you can easily see how hectic life can get. The greatest gift you can give your mother is to totally enjoy your Mother’s Day with your family and not to even think about me. No phone calls and don’t try to come over. Just relax and enjoy your Mother’s Day. The day after Mother’s Day we'll send each other a email telling about how our mother’s day when.

Play Date

My friend brought over her baby to play with my baby today. The two of them had such a good time together. Mark and Gerald worked hard on solving sudoku puzzles while Alanna and I walked around outside looking at the plants, flowers and birds. It was an enjoyable day!!
