Weekend

Our weekend went past so fast

A little girl came over on Saturday.

There was some pumpkin carving going on.

She could pick up pumpkins seeds off the floor with her toes.

Holly joined us for dinner on Sunday

We ate some of Sparks' pork.

Double G had to sit next to Holly during dinner.

Next time we hope Holly brings Andy.

Someone who lives only about a ½ hour away, flew here instead of driving.

Flying in was much more exciting for both her and us.

It was fun watching her check the airplane and take off.

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Halloween

Trick or treat!!

Today is the Special Education Halloween party at school. I took apart a big stuffed Elmo and made a Halloween costume for Thomas out of it. Do you think at the age 21 Tom is to old to be Elmo?

Are you celebrating today?

October 16th of each year is National Boss Day.

The purpose in promoting National Boss Day has been to improve the relationship between employees and their bosses. In particular, younger employees who often do not realize the problems bosses face in running a business.

Common observes of National Boss Day include giving a greeting card, gift, or some other token of appreciation to the "boss" (manager, supervisor or executive). So I think you should show your boss your appreciation by planning a lunch for him/her (no not to poison them)

Differences Between You And Your Boss

If you take a long time, you're slow.
BUT if your boss takes a long time, he's thorough.
If you don't do it, you're lazy.
BUT if your boss doesn't do it, he's too busy.
If you make a mistake, you're an idiot.
BUT if your boss makes a mistake, he's 'only human'.
If you're on a day off sick, you're 'always' sick.
BUT if your boss is a day off sick, he must be very ill.
If you take a stand, you're being bull-headed.
BUT if your boss does it, he's being firm.
If you overlooked a rule of etiquette, you're being rude.
BUT if your boss skips a few rules, he's being original.
If you do something without being told, you're overstepping your authority.
BUT if your boss does the same thing, that's initiative.
If you're out of the office, you're wandering around.
BUT if your boss is out of the office, he's on business.
If you apply for leave, you must be going for an interview.
BUT if your boss applies for leave, it's because he's overworked.

Turducken

When we ordered the turducken, we asked about the stuffing that is normally between each layer of meat. I was told they don’t use stuffing and it would not be made that way. Friday at the store, they apologized for the person in charge of making it, not only added stuffing between each layer he also added a small pork roast inside the boned chicken, that was inside the boned duck, that was inside the boned turkey. So the store gave us a huge discount off the turducken. We ended up getting more of what we wanted for a cheaper price!!
The butcher that made the turducken was so proud of his work. After he showed it off to everyone in the store, he insisted that he carry it out to our car for us. He gleamed with pride that we almost had to pry the birds out of his hands.
Last year for Mark’s birthday we had turkey, and what was suppose to be dinner for 3 ended up being a dinner with a house full uninvited dinner guest, with no leftovers. So yesterday with less then an hour until dinner was done, if you could have seen the look on Mark’s face when an Aunt and Uncle showed up at our door and another relative driving passed. After they left and grandparents arrived, Mark was taking no chances and he locked all the doors.
The turducken was exceptionally moist and tasted fantastic. The seasoning from the stuffing seeps into the meats for a great taste. Everyone loved it. Even the grandparents enjoyed the flavor and ask Mark to do this again on his next birthday if not for this Christmas. It was hard for most of us to distinguish the different meats, they all tasted wonderful. We can’t wait to eat the leftovers for supper tonight.

G's Story

How was your vacation at Grandma's house?

It was a wonderful weekend at Grandma's house. I never did cry for mom and dad. Grandma kept two pictures around for me to carry. One of my mom and dad..and yes I kissed that one a lot. The other picture was a me and my mommy. I was happy to have them. It was fun at Grandma's house but I was very happy to see my mommy and daddy again.

Chocolate milk for breakfast along with toast and cereal doesn’t spoil anyone. Uncle Mark would sings me silly made up songs during breakfast time. I loved it!!

Getting ready to go outside to the back yard swing, it’s sunny I think I need Uncle Mark’s glasses. Don't I look great??

Thanks Uncle Mark for this guitar and the guitar lessons. I quickly learned to strum along. I almost look like a hippy from the 60's in this picture.

Maybe I was a bit spoiled. I didn’t need to walk anywhere. I could play with anything I wanted. Even if I wanted to play with a rat.
