Christmas Eve

There have been 40 B&E's in the last 10 weeks in our area. Christmas eve we heard a fat old man wearing red was breaking and entering all over the place. We put Tom in charge of protecting us. He did a great job.

My dream last night

In my dream last night it was Halloween. I was not at home but was asked if I'd like to hand out goodies to the trick or treaters. Yes! Of course I would because at home we are lucky to even get anyone at our door. So I sat on the porch and was handed a container full of mealworms. I was to put 3 or 4 live worms into each kid's bag and to tell them that they taste like Frito's.

Tom

Today we took Tom to Dr. Nelson at the University of Michigan Hospital. It was a nice visit with the doctor. She did tell us that Tom was well padded. Is that a nice way of saying your handicapped child is fat? Hmmm how do we get him to move more and eat less? We did get lots of prescriptions for equipment for Tom but the doctor informed us that because she wrote the prescription it doesn't mean that you will get it or that Michigan will pay for it. It's just another step in the process. oh boy!!

don't know what to think

One of my son's is closer to 30 than 20. The other will be 24 in just a few weeks. So many of my friends and even young sibling are empty nesters. No children at home, less bills, come and go as they please, and they go on VACATIONS!!! I'm still waiting to be able to sleep through the night, not to change diapers or have bottles of formula in the frig. Most would be shocked with the extra laundry I do in just a week due to pee and drool. You know that Karma? well, it's a bunch of shit!!

today I found out that my newest little great niece was born Thursday 5:47 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz and 20 in long. She has a good amount of hair and long fingers and toes. Still no name.

Did they forget me?

I can tell you it's a girl and she was born sometime yesterday. Found this picture of them on facebook today. It is my nephew and his first child. My brother and is wife's first grandchild. The baby was due on the 11 of September. I would be on the phone to everyone telling them and celebrating the wonderful gift of life. I am missing something here?

The Jesus Tree

For some time now my brother has been bugging me to stop over and to look at this tree in his back yard. Over the phone he told me about how there is a heavenly being on this tree and I just need to see it. For the past week or two I'd tell the family "if I find time today I'm going to go see the Jesus tree." Today I finally made it there. What do you think?
Just looking at the tree I couldn't see anything different about it. It wasn't until my brother started pointing out the head and feet that I could understand what he was taking about. Can you see the halo?
I couldn't help but laugh at his idea of for the price of $10 you could come into his back yard and pray in front of the tree. I must have laughed pretty hard for now the price is down to $4.
When we first pulled into his driveway this was on their tree in the front yard. Does this look any more or less like a Jesus tree?

Kindergarten

Georgia Bear will be starting kindergarten soon. I wonder what she's going to wear. Can you believe this is what Mark wore on his first day of school?

She can Dance!!

Over the weekend, my granddaughter, also known as "the bubble girl" proved to one and all she can dance. Loved dancing, spend most of the reception out on the dance floor dancing the night away.

Here he is, a beautiful gift from God. Yep! everyone tells me that moment he dies Tom is going straight up to Heaven with no ifs, ands or buts about it. This wonderful gift has taught me so much about life and so much more about true love.
Tom will never achieve worldly success, cannot provide the usual source of pride, all other reasons to love fall away and what's left is the purest love that there can be. He is loved not because of what he can do, and not for what he might be, but simply because he is. He is here to remind me of what love should be.
