New Feeding Tube

Tom received a new feeding tube yesterday. I'm not sure if I like the new one yet or not. The old tube just looked like the end of a beach ball. This new tube reminds me of an umbilical cord sticking out of his stomach. Sorry, should have taken the gauze away before taking picture. The only thing I don't like about the new one so far is it's length. What I do like it this whole set up is so much easier on Tom when having to replace it. You can feed him without lifting his shirt way up. More then one port to feed him from. Less likely to leak.

The old "button" it terrible to get in and out but is more pleasing to the eye. This button leaked and I think the acid in Tom's stomach was somehow eating away at it. Look at the red around the site. Tom received his first G-tube in May of '89......wow, 20 years of tube feedings...is that a record???
