Just Another Day

Early Monday morning an ambulance takes FIL to the hospital. At 85 yrs. his chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is taking its toil on his lungs and he was having rapid irregular heart beats. About 9 yesterday evening he was given a shot to regulate his heart. Soon after the shot his heart rate slowed to a more normal rhythm. He started looking better, the shaking of his hands stopped and he was so much happier. We left the hospital about 10 that evening thinking that he might be coming home today. The hospital called this morning. He had terrible problems with his heart last night and was moved to the cardiac unit.
At the same time Thomas John is sleeping way more than he should be. Put him to bed Sunday night and he would wake up briefly here and there, only to quickly return to sleep again. He slept almost all day yesterday and last night too. This morning I notice that with him sleeping for hours on end, he has developed lots of new bruises all over on his arms and legs over night. Plus his G-tube site is leaking.
The house is a mess, laundry is piled high, and there is a smell coming from inside our refrigerator. I did not sleep well and am not sure on what to do next. So here I sit and complain to you. Aren’t you glad you stopped by?

I'm always glad when I stop by!! I I was closer I'd be there in a heart beat...I'm good at investigating funny smells in the fridge. :)

I should have read your blog before I left the house, if I had known the extent of your stress I would have cleaned while you played with Gerald.

Thanks for having us for lunch!
