I have been faithfully feeding eastern blue bird on our back deck over the winter. Everyday like clock work they would show up at the back deck at 4 for food. Now they are beginning to show up closer to 3:30, I'm hoping its a sign that spring is on it's way and the day light is getting longer.

I have been faithfully feeding eastern blue bird on our back deck over the winter. Everyday like clock work they would show up at the back deck at 4 for food. Now they are beginning to show up closer to 3:30, I'm hoping its a sign that spring is on it's way and the day light is getting longer.

We try to feed the birds but the squirrels always demolish the bird feeders. If we still lived in West MI, I would get out the gun (or at least the BB gun). However, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate it here. We switched to a suet feeder, but the stupid squirrels still hang from it and eat out of it. Ugh.
How amazing would it be if there actually is a correlation to spring? You must keep observing!
