Another Quilt

Tomorrow is Thomas’ school’s yearly spring program. This year is the 20th program since the school started. The school asks me to make a quilt out of previous show shirts to hang in the auditorium during the show. In 1994 they started making shirts for the show, so a bag a shirts was dropped off and I started cutting and sewing. Before finishing it up, I took the quilt up to school just to see if it met with their approval. They didn’t care for the shirt that they use to celebrate the 25 anniversary of the school in the quilt, even though it was use too as a show shirt. Monday night went this years show shirt we done, I cut out that square and cut up a new shirt for the quilt. It needed to be done today so to be hung up tomorrow.

This spring program is attended by so many people that it’s no longer held at Thomas’s school, but now held in Monroe High School. Every year during this week the kids from Tom’s school are bussed over to Monroe High during the school day to practice on stage. This year during this week, our week of rehearsals, Monroe High school has had a series of bomb threats that have disrupted our run through for two days. I think the students at Monroe and just paying us back. For usually its one of our students that pulls the fire alarm while we’re there.
